What Gutters Cost in Plano, From Figures Anyone Can Check
Two published sources, what each one counts, and the parts of a quote that neither one includes.
The Short Version
A cost site's Plano page gave a typical gutter project as $875 to $1,407 and $4 to $7 per linear foot in September 2026.
A national cost guide gives $6 to $12 per linear foot for seamless aluminum gutters, installed.
Neither is a quote. Both are ranges printed by websites, repeated here with their dates so you have something to hold a real estimate against.
Per Linear Foot, Installed
| Item | Published range | Source and date |
|---|---|---|
| Gutters, Plano estimate | $4 to $7 per linear foot | homeyou, Plano page, September 24, 2026 |
| Seamless aluminum | $6 to $12 per linear foot | HomeGuide, November 7, 2025 (national) |
| Seamless steel | $8 to $20 per linear foot | HomeGuide (national) |
| Seamless copper | $30 to $50 per linear foot | HomeGuide (national) |
| Aluminum downspouts | $5 to $6 per linear foot | HomeGuide (national) |
| Gutter guards, installed | $15 to $45 per linear foot | HomeGuide (national) |
| Removing old gutters | $1 to $2 per linear foot | HomeGuide (national) |
The national figures are not adjusted for Plano. They are printed because a local per-foot figure for seamless work, guards or tear-off could not be found in a source with a date on it.

One Worked Example, and What It Leaves Out
The Plano cost page works an example of 212 linear feet: $658 to $1,015 in gutter material, $175 to $346 for about 6.4 hours of labor, and $42 to $46 in supplies. That is where its $875 to $1,407 comes from.
Run the same 212 feet through the national seamless range and you get $1,272 to $2,544 before downspouts. The gap is the difference between sectional gutter and seamless gutter, and between a material-and-labor estimate and an installed price that carries a company's truck, machine, insurance and warranty.
Things neither figure includes
- Taking down and hauling off the old gutters.
- Replacing fascia board that turns out to be soft once the old run is off. See fascia and soffit repair.
- Second-story work, which needs longer ladders or staging and more time per foot.
- Extra downspouts, larger downspouts, and extensions or buried drain lines past the foot of the wall.
- Guards. At the published range they can cost more per foot than the gutter under them.
How to Read a Gutter Quote
A written quote should let you check it against the house. Look for:
- Total linear feet of gutter, and the size (five-inch or six-inch).
- The metal and its thickness, and whether the color is a standard one.
- The number of downspouts, their size, and where each one ends.
- How the gutter is hung: hidden hangers screwed into the fascia, and how far apart.
- Whether tear-off, haul-away and any wood repair are included or priced separately.
- The warranty, in writing, for both the material and the labor, and who honors it.
- Proof of general liability insurance.
Texas does not appear to have a state license specific to gutter installers; this site could not confirm one either way, so it describes no contractor as holding one. Insurance, a written scope and written warranty terms are the things you can verify.
Before You Pay a Deposit on an Older House
The City of Plano runs a rebate for exterior and interior updates to homes 30 years old or older, and its agreement says work must not start, deposits included, until the city has issued a notice to proceed. The minimum project is large, so gutters alone will not qualify, but gutters done as part of a bigger exterior project might. The details are on the rules page.
Three Questions About the Numbers
Why do the two sources give different per-foot prices?
They measure different things. The Plano figure of $4 to $7 per linear foot comes from a cost site's local estimate, and its material list reads like sectional gutter bought by the piece. The national $6 to $12 figure is for seamless aluminum formed on site and installed. A contractor who arrives with a forming machine is quoting seamless.
How many feet of gutter does a house need?
It depends on how many roof edges drain toward the ground. The Plano cost example uses 212 linear feet. A contractor measures the eaves, counts corners and downspouts, and prices from that.
Is cleaning priced by the foot too?
Usually by the visit, with the number of stories and the length of gutter deciding the figure. No published Plano cleaning price was found for this page, so none is printed.

Published ranges stop being useful at the first corner. A contractor's tape measure settles what a web page cannot.
