Living Under Trees

Downhill, away from the slab, in a line or extension that ends on your own lot. Do not assume you may discharge onto a greenbelt or common area; ask the association.
Do guards make sense here?
On a tree-side roof edge, usually. On the street side with open sky, perhaps not. Guards can be fitted to some runs and not others.
